Branching Out
I started Branching Out, a lace scarf pattern, this evening, out of Rowan Kidsilk Haze in the Trance color. I had to start twice, since I made a mistake on the fourth row, but now that I'm looking at the chart instead of trying to keep my place in the written directions, it seems to be going better. I'm planning to send this as the finished one skein project in IK knitalong. I bought my yarn to send for this month - must get it in the mail soon!

Yarn?
Where, oh where can my KnitPicks be? It shipped a couple of days ago, but I want it now. I am eager to get a look at my sock book so that I can pick out what socks to make.
I put a link to Sensational Socks over in the sidebar, and will report back on what I think I'll be knitting.
I've been working away on my bias knit baby blanket, and multidirectional Manos scarf. I bought yarn for a pinwheel blanket and am not letting myself cast on for it until I finish the bias blanket. I've gone from wanting to do one thing at a time to (mostly) limiting myself to one thing of a given type at one time.
I keep meaning to take photos of the baby sweater and little socks I made recently - must get those up.

Podcasts, Pals, and (Knit)Picks
Knitters' Forum was mentioned in last week's Cast On podcast, which was great and has brought some new posters to the site.
I've just registered to take part in my first secret pal exchange, the IK One Skein Secret Pal. There's a thread at Knitters' Forum dedicated to it as well, so please come by and participate!
I'm about to sew up the toe on the second of a pair of baby socks, and I enjoyed knitting them so much that I ordered several skeins of sock yarn and Sensational Knitted Socks from KnitPicks today. I think I need some pointier size 3 needles, and may need to get some smaller ones as well.

Quick update
Current projects:
Baby blanket - almost halfway done (Baby is more than halfway done, so I'd better get going)
So-called scarf - about six inches in. This is really slow going and I may rip it out and find another scarf pattern. The Manos del Uruguay yarn I am using is beyond gorgeous.
Wrist warmer - in lilac Cotton-Ease, to cover up my wrist braces. About two inches in to the first one, to be ripped out and restarted on dpns, since magic loop is too fussy with the tiny diameter.
Dusty in the basket:
Childhood sweater - I really should get this out and finish it. Really. Someday.
Possible next projects:
Convertible shrug from the Spring issue of Knitty
City shawl from a pattern I ordered from pure knits

Divine Cardigan
This kid's cardigan from the March issue of Magknits is too cute. One of my friend's has a three-year old that would love it.
As of last night, I have finished up the front and back of the baby sweater, and am ready to move on to the sleeves. I made one mistake when decreasing for the left side of the neck, but I think it will be hidden by the seam allowance.
I may make a trip out today to pick out some baby blanket yarn, but I'd have to get it done this morning before it interferes with my Oscar fest afternoon.

Back at it
I've finished the back piece of the Fingers sweater, and completed the ribbing for the front. I'm trying to decide if I want to figure out how to do the sleeves in the round, or if I should just knit them flat and seam them up as per the pattern. The yarn is knitting up nice and soft, and I think that the sizing is big enough that it will be great for the baby this winter.

Worst Blogger Ever
Let's just get it out there - it has been months since I updated. There was quite a stretch there where I was either asleep, at work, or throwing up, and my knitting and blogging have suffered. Yes, gestation can be rough on the hobbies.
Work is still hell, but I am no longer falling asleep at 8:00 (I'm up 'til 9:30, woo!), and have just cast a little sweater for my wee child-to-be, in honor of today's discovery that we are having another baby girl. It's Julie's Itchy Fingers from the Yarn Girls Guide to Kid Knits. I found a cute pic of a finished one at Janet Knits. I'm using some multi-hued Berroco Lullaby in blues and purples.
As I was started the ribbing at the bottom of the first piece, and watching the Olympics, I remembered how much I like doing this. Bring on the tiny knits!

WIP
I am working on:
Three scarves to sell for coworker (almost done with knitting the second, need to add weave in ends and add fringe on first one)
Baby blanket for friend (will never ever ever be done)
Ribbon scarf for grandmother's Xmas gift (maybe a third of the way through. Might just buy her something)
I am planning on:
Hat for child
Two hats to sell to another coworker
